Volleyball is at a point now where its experiencing its biggest growth since the 90’s and its not surprising considering the energy, athleticism and excitement that goes into the game. Volleyball Nations League
The VNL is probably one of the, if not the most premier comps in the sport. Since it started the VNL has brought together some of the best national teams from around the world who battle for supremacy in this hard and gruelling format. As with previous years, you can expect fierce rivalries, amazing plays and a great showcasing for some of the finest talent that the sport of volleyball has to offer. The matches run across several months, with matches held in various cities across the world, which will please local fans of the sport and give the players, teams and travelling fans a new and exciting experience.
Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile
If you like your club volleyball, there are very few leagues that can rival the prestige of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile. The LVP has a rich history and a reputation for nurturing world class talent, so it has become a must watch for a lot of people who are really into watching volleyball. There is a good mix of players in the league that consist of seasoned veterans along with rising stars which make for a lot of unpredictable and exciting matches. Teams like Imoco Volley Conegliano and Igor Gorgonzola Novara are some teams to keep your eye on this year as they both strive for the title.
Superlega
The Italian Supelega continues to be a powerhouse league in men’s volleyball and its known for its high level of competition and passionate fans. It showcases some of the best players in the world and the 2024 season promises intense battles, great plays and many memorable moments. Cucine Lube Civitanova and Sir Safety Perguia are 2 teams to watch out for this year but there are always surprises in the Superlega!
Big Ten Conference
The Big Ten is part of the NCAA and is a league that includes some of the top universities in the US. Its known for having elite level programs for the sports involved and volleyball is no exception, where it has become a breeding ground for the future stars of the sport. The 2024 season looks to follow on from previous seasons and provide intense rivalries and standout individual and team achievements. Some stand out universities in the Big Ten are Nebraska, Penn State and Wisconsin, so keep an eye on these teams in the 2024 season.
Indian Prime Volleyball League
Last but certainly not least is the Indian Prime Volleyball League (the PVL). It’s a relatively new league with the first season being played in 2022, but this hasn’t stopped its rapid growth and popularity amongst volleyball fans in India and surrounding regions. The PVL shows off some great volleyball talent from India and internationally, who offer exciting and dynamic gameplay. In the 2024 season has continued to grow the popularity of the sport in India, with record viewership and some popular stand out teams like the Kolkata Thunderbolts and the Ahmedabad defenders, making it a must watch for volleyball enthusiasts.
